Arogyaswami Paulraj joined Stanford University in In , he proposed the MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) concept which is the key to today’s 4G cellular and WiFi wireless networks.

He is the author of over research papers, two text books and a co-inventor in 66 US patents.

[2] He attended Montfort Boys' High School in Yercaud, Tamil Nadu. He joined the Indian Navy at age 16 through the National Defense Academy, Khadakvasla and served the Indian Navy for 26 years.
